Alexandre Ramos joined Liberty Insurance in 2018 with over 20 years of experience working in insurance, banking and telecommunications. Ramos is keenly interested in delivering market advantage for the company through technology; making it more efficient, agile and simple. He lives in Portugal and is the father of two children. His spare time is taken up with his other passion: basketball, which he tries to play regularly. He also enjoys snowboarding, reading biographies, as well as books on professional efficiency, leadership, and time management.

Like many large companies, Liberty Insurance's backend systems evolved over time, and through acquisitions, which resulted in a lot of duplication and maintenance overhead. The evolutionary approach to modernisation is lower risk but would take more time. Conversely, the revolutionary approach (starting again) is higher risk but can be achieved more quickly.
