As a part of the fully remote team at OLX Group, Piotr, a frontend engineer and his team were tasked to migrate the legacy frontend codebase to the new technology stack. In this journey they were presented with many challenges - specifically how to ensure efficient and consistent communication between remote team members.
In this talk, Piotr will talk through what practices his team are following in order to get a better understanding of development processes and project decisions and how it creates a more cohesive remote team. Topics that will be covered in the talk:
- What tools they used to ensure efficiency and how they document their code changes;
- What challenges they encountered and how they approached this;
- How they were able to scale the process as the team grows, and
- Future improvements that he can foresee the team adopting
Changing even the smallest of design features on a highly technical mature product that has millions of users can be a huge challenge. In this talk, Janina will share her journey of changing a simple UI component in Codewise's navigation bar, the challenges she encountered and lessons learned for future 'simple' design changes. She will talk about:
- The maturity of Codewise, highlighting its design & technical legacy
- The changes she proposed to the UI design
- The challenges faced, and
- Lessons learned throughout her journey
As the largest marketplace in the region, Allegro is one of Poland's most distinguishable brands. With millions of users, how did Allegro establish a strong foothold in the region against the maraketplace giants?
In this session, learn how Alina and her team use data and analytics to create a UX strategy that allows their business to scale and grow in such a competitive market. She will touch on:
- How a localised approach to UX has created loyal users
- How to embed UX in your product development
- How to take change as an opportunity for improvements for the team
Designing, developing and delivering products that provide user and business value is hard, even harder when you have several products launching at the same time. How can you ensure the balancing act of being an advocate for both the user and the business?
In this talk, Andreea will talk through her own practices when it comes to product prioritisation. Using experiences from previous roles as a UX & Design Lead she will touch on:
• How she uses data received from the end-users via quantitative and qualitative methods and analytics;
• How team alignment affects prioritisation and how she mitigates this;
• What challenges she has encountered; and
• Any future improvement she can apply to her own experiences

This interactive session will look at how to understand your customer’s needs by learning their patterns and behaviours. Once you've gotten insights into this, how do you put them into action and get buy-in from your stakeholders?
Giving examples from their own experiences, Andreea and Janina will talk through their best practices and how to get past buy-in using data.
