Stop Sprinting; Start Designing!

With the steady transition to Lean UX and other agile models of delivery over the past decade, we are often now overlooking the critical high-level design phase. This talk will focus on the value of the high-level design phase in developing digital products and solutions, and suggest an approach to achieving graceful evolution of experiences, rather than disruptive change. I’ll define and illustrate an “experience-design (XD) framework” and show how it can fulfill the goals of high-level design. And I’ll and break down the XD framework into its elements, discussing how these element variably apply to different solution types and contexts.

Good Design is Never Done

Creating great products is hard, really hard. And the key to any product's success is the ability to iterate with speed and confidence.
Generally, the mindset of iterative design and the ability to sequence and slice product design and implementation doesn't come naturally to product teams and designers.
In this talk, Robert will explain why digital products are iterative by design and the key factors and mindset that can help product teams and designers iterate with confidence.

What happens when your design job evolves?

As designers, it's easy to explain what we do, we deliver screens, flows and make the world easier to use. That's great, but as design has become increasingly respected, more and more designers are finding themselves in roles that are harder to describe and even more difficult to navigate. In this talk I will help designers to define their role in a strategic context and outline some of the tools they can use to enable their design skills and creativity to add value in a more senior setting.

Community is one part of how UXDX helps teams build better products.

Local events help people learn from peers and build their network. The reports, ebooks and knowledge library turn those conversations into practical ideas teams can apply.
