In this session, Macdara will discuss the commerce experience of moving Exxon from physical transactions to digital through, pump activation and payment processing. Macdara will explore how the team looked at the process of transformation taking a fragmented customer journey to collated experience including;
- The process for user journey designs
- Understanding the technical side and implementation
- Setting up an effective field testing approach
- Reflecting on the challenges encountered around the physical to digital and moving them across
- Success metrics and future thinking
Research readouts are a vital part of a UX designer's job. However, the findings presented during readout sessions sometimes carry a challenging message. In such situations, stakeholders can misunderstand your intention and feel offended by the presentation. But you are just delivering the facts, aren't you?
Well, if prepared in advance and done strategically, every designer can tell a compelling research story and transform sceptical stakeholders into UX advocates. Come and learn techniques of how to prepare in advance, anticipate pushback and deliver successful research readouts.
- You will learn how to anticipate challenges before and during research readouts and will be able to address them skillfully.
- You will discover how to transform UX challengers into UX advocates.
- You will be equipped with the best practices that will help you to illustrate the benefits of UX research during the readout.
In this talk, Claire will talk through tips she's learned and applied with her product teams to be conscious and start their journey on creating sustainable web designs. She will touch on:
- What is sustainable web design
- What are her top tips on how to ensure your web design is sustainable
- What challenges has she encountered, and
- What other improvements is she looking to incorporate to her process
Engineers are often locked away, churning through tickets on a JIRA board and never seeing people use the stuff they create. Not at Seccl. We've introduced Customer Deep Dives
In this session, Amy will talk about how she established Customer Deep Dives at Seccl, a form of empathy lab, so that Seccl’s real users get to show internal teams exactly what's working for them...and what's not!
She will touch on:
- The challenges she encountered,
- How she overcame these challenges,
- How Skills Exchange sessions within Seccl allow the whole company to benefit, and
- Her future plans for improvement

As you can imagine, having a partner work in the same field provides some interesting dinner table discussions, from work techniques and approaches to the personal side of values, boundaries, and fears. That’s exactly the case for Om and Pavitra Tandon who both have built successful careers in the field of UX. We’ll be sitting down for an open conversation on their viewpoints of how they’ve navigated their careers in UX and how they mastered helping (and consciously not helping) each other take risks and thrive.
