He is end-responsible the FUGA platform that was launched in 2008 in conjunction with leading music partners as well as for managing the technical team. Prior to FUGA, Ronald worked in different engineering related roles for Nike, eBay, KLM and ING.

Netflix has been one of the most influential companies in how we build software today. Their usage of AWS is the stuff of legend, their tech blog is considered a must read for engineers and the Netflix OSS project powers the platforms of many companies. With all this success it is tempting to also break open the Netflix OSS toolbox and apply it in your company. But should you? Unless you work at Netflix, the problems you are trying to solve are likely to be different and their architecture might introduce more problems than it solves.
In this talk I will take a closer look at some of the popular architectural styles and highlight the trade-offs associated with them. Armed with this information you can help your company choose an architecture that fits your problem space.
