
Joyce Croft is a designer focused on embedding human-centered design across organizations. She is currently a Senior Product Designer at Gallup. Previously, she worked at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California, where she served as Lead Designer for the Innovation Foundry Concept Office, partnering with engineers to deliver high-value product solutions that supported JPL’s complex mission development processes and systems.
Before JPL, Joyce worked as a multidisciplinary designer in Silicon Valley across startups and Fortune 500 companies. As Head of Design at PagerDuty, she led a successful rebrand that contributed to the company’s IPO in April 2019. She is a named inventor on a U.S. patent for a component library created for Inkling Habitat™, a cloud-based content authoring platform. As a Senior UX Designer at Google and Amazon, they contributed to consumer products including Google Play Instant Apps and Amazon Visual Search used by millions of users.
Joyce is an active speaker and educator in the design community. She has spoken at Config 2024, contributed as a community speaker for UXDX Los Angeles, and taught a master class with the Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF). She has also served as a visiting scholar at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).
Her current work explores how AI can be thoughtfully integrated into human-centered systems—enhancing capability and scale while preserving human agency. Guided by the mantra “Return the gifts life has given to you,” she actively mentors and coaches the next generation of designers. Joyce holds a BFA from the Atlanta College of Art (ACA).
