Senior UX Researcher
Reed has a strong belief that an ever-advancing civilization can only be achieved through working together, learning from our best efforts and generating a deep understanding through experience. Reed has had the opportunity to a broad range of complex industries which have required him to come up with mechanisms to understand a new and often complex space rapidly.
Reed is the lead researcher for the Ride, Vehicle, and Fleet Operations at Zoox. In his role, helps product, engineering, and design teams understand how current workflows and tools fit into the strategic objectives of Zoox’s Mission. Before joining Zoox, he has been a researcher at StubHub, Autodesk, Cruise, and SoFi. Reed received a B.S. in Social Work from Texas Woman’s University and a MS in Human Factors in Information Design from Bentley University - McCallum Graduate School of Business.

However, how do you manage the stakeholder throughout each stage of the process? Moderated by Lauren Chan Lee. For every UX & product challenge that Reed has encountered, he has always relied on his ability to break down any problems into digestible pieces and reassemble them into new perspectives. This allows the team and stakeholders to get clear on what they are talking about, and gain a deeper understanding of the basic principles of the user problems. Drawing on the Generic Parts Technique developed by psychologist Tony McCaffrey and Ground Theory developed by two sociologists, Barney Glaser and Anselm Strauss, Reed will talk through: - How he has overcome stakeholder challenges and increased the value of UX throughout his experiences, - How he has encouraged his product teams to be more involved through the UX process, and - How this framework has not only lead to a more cohesive and efficient team process but a more innovative culture
