Data science, machine learning and MLOps expert with a proven track record of technical delivery across multiple industries. Experienced in model building, software development and technical management and am particularly interested in the challenge of deploying machine learning based software products at scale. Andy has developed solutions in logistics, energy and in the financial services industry that have created millions of pounds of value.

In 2024, Andy was named one of 20 “Rising Stars in Data and Analytics” by Driven by Data magazine and invited to give guest lectures on AI and MLOps courses at the Universities of Oxford and Warsaw.
In 2023, the second edition of his book, “Machine Learning Engineering with Python”, was published by Packt.
In 2022 Andy was named “Rising Star of the Year” at the British Data Awards.
In 2019 Andy was named “Data Scientist of the Year” by the Data Science Foundation.

Maximising the AI Opportunity: Tech, Business & Customer Alignment

Organisations face a significant challenge in balancing the rapid pace of AI innovation with the critical need for risk management and trust. While projections for AI investment are high, with some estimates suggesting it could account for 10-12% of technology budgets, a more cautious and critical approach is necessary. Andy's talk will explore why firms should resist the pressure to blindly adopt AI and instead treat it like any other new technology investment. We'll discuss the importance of being agile while also maintaining a strong focus on managing risk, building trust, and critically evaluating the real-world implications of AI implementation before committing significant resources and how to differentiate ourselves, beyond the GenAI hype.
