It Needs to Be Said: Empowering Communications Across Product Development Teams

22 Apr, 17:00 - 17:30 (UTC) - Main Stage

Enabling the Team
UXDX Community: AI, Low-Code & Designing Quality 2025

The most talented and productive product engineers tend to be superior problem solvers, highly systematic and detail-oriented, and single-minded about their work. Some engineers and designers, however, feel less adept when it comes to working collaboratively in teams, particularly when it comes to providing useful feedback to team members or communicating and interacting effectively with clients or internally with others in their organization who are essential to the product development process but may lack the technical acumen of an engineer.

As CEO and founder of Transcenda, a global tech product engineering, design, and strategy consultancy with 200+ engineers and designers in five countries, forging strong working relationships between clients and product teams and ensuring all team members thrive is among Megan Fales' top priorities. For her, that begins with effective communication strategies and establishing a people-first corporate culture. In this talk/presentation, Megan discusses the difficulties and problems that arise when there is minimal or poor communication between clients and engineers or within the product development team as a whole. She also shares practical tips and proven strategies on how to communicate effectively within and across teams and one-on-one, particularly when the people involved may be located in different countries and time zones.
