Yaru (Kristen) Liu is a UX Designer at Amazon, where she leads research and design for financial enterprise products, taking ideas from zero to one. She previously served as a Senior Experience Designer at Goldman Sachs. With over eight years of experience, Kristen explores how emerging technologies—particularly AI—can enhance complex systems and deliver exceptional user experiences. Beyond her professional work, she pursues independent side projects focused on social impact, including AI-driven tools that support people with speech disorders. Her work has been recognized with multiple international design awards, and she serves as a jury member and mentor for leading design awards and institutions.

How AI Reshapes the UX Design Pace

A real case study of a 0-1 enterprise product with complex domain knowledge demonstrates this transformation. Traditionally, this process took at least several months: product managers would draft requirements, gather feedback, iterate, and align with all stakeholders. Designers would then receive the requirements and iterate from low-fidelity to high-fidelity designs, conduct usability testing, and hand off to the engineering team. Now, with AI tools integrated into every step, these previously siloed phases have evolved into deep collaboration with daily meetings and daily iterations. The result? We launched a live prototype in just 8 days.
