With 13+ years in service design, design leadership, and user research, Caroline delivers digital products and service experiences that bridge user needs with business impact. In global organizations spanning from B2B to B2C, from public to private sector, she leads design through systemic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and fosters cultures that teams are proud of.

In 2016 she co-founded award-winning service Refugee Text, the first chatbot in the humanitarian aid sector, providing asylum information to every refugee with a phone.

Today I Experienced Something I Hope to Understand in a Few Days

In this talk, Caroline will reflect on the analogue aspects of being human in a tech-driven world. She will share examples from her own work, analogous trends, and point towards a positive future for design. The title derives from a quote by Danish filmmaker Jørgen Leth in his film “The Perfect Human” from 1968. Similar to Descartes’ quote “Cogito, ergo sum”; I think, therefore I am, the quote underlines a human quality that differentiates us from animals and machines.
