Amanda is the VP of Product at Horizon Quantum Computing, where she leads the product vision, strategy, research, design and development of developer tools for programming quantum computers. She has over 10 years of experience in the technology field, and has a strong background in product development and innovation for software developer tools.
Previously, she was at Microsoft, where she last worked in product management on Visual Studio App Center. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Brown University, and executive certifications in Design Thinking, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Business Strategy, and Finance from Stanford University, Wharton Executive Education and INSEAD Executive Education respectively.
Amanda was recognised for her contributions to the tech industry by receiving the 2024 SG Digital Leader award and being selected in the Singapore Computer Society’s Singapore 100 Women in Tech 2023 list.
Past Talks
Quantum computing holds the potential to solve some of the world's most complex computational problems, provided we have the knowledge and tools to harness this power. In this session, Amanda will be sharing about applying product thinking and user research in deep tech, to understand users and enable developers who can code to build programs for quantum computers without any quantum knowledge.
As quantum computing is still a nascent industry, there are vast uncharted territories between scientific research, product development and design to be bridged before quantum computers can become useful. It is interesting to learn how to apply product thinking and strategy in this field, so that we can benefit from applying these principles in a narrow and restricted area, and extrapolate these skills to apply them in different domains.
