Developing a feedback culture in design teams – beyond skills

Feedback is an essential element of high performance in any domain – from music to sport. For designers, developers and product managers the use of feedback is most often considered in the context of a critique or part of a design process. These are important points of feedback that can be enhanced by taking a broader approach to improving feedback culture in teams and across organisations.
The performance implications are significant, with research from Gartner shows that shifting the feedback culture in a team can boost employee performance by as much as 14%.
To shift a feedback culture, we so often try to fix the problem with training alone. Having the skills to deliver feedback that supports performance is important but insufficient if we are looking to shift the way that feedback is given and received within your organisation. Feedback skills are only one part of the puzzle.
This workshop will present a more holistic approach to improving feedback culture. Participants will walk away with:
- The ability to define and articulate the benefit of feedback in their own context
- A deeper understanding of a range of feedback frameworks and methodologies
- A personalised implementation plan for how they can better seek, receive and give feedback in their roles
